Custom structures and projection screens were commissioned for the Midforms newmedia festival ( to be used as backdrops and to create a unified aesthetic throughout the event. The stuctures evolved from three main influences: the title given to each artists' zone ('PERL's), an ongoing curiosity with curved members used as structural pieces and a desire to use local wood (fir). The result: a lightweight section of a sphere held in its curved form exclusively by the geometry and assembly process. 16 in total were built and arranged in clusters or individually for visual and practical effect. The lengths of wood are of the same length and reusable in various configurations.
